Kilburn Radio?
Links for local podcasts and radio shows which have been created in the Kilburn area of London to download and enjoy. If anyone in Kilburn and/or surrounding area wishes their work to be featured please let us know.
=================================================================
SKFM the only Kilburn based radio station (as far as I know) it appears has closed. Unfortunately as far as I can see internal/external politics, lack of clear direction and funding has finally killed it off. There are many people, including myself who feel very let down and confused by the whole situation and want to do something about it.
In my opinion broadcasting community radio doesn't need to be complicated. All you really need is a website, broadband connection, microphone and a pc. If you play copyright free music or music "given" by new bands or groups with their permission. it's even simpler.
I may be wrong but I believe there is a need for some kind of radio voice in the Kilburn community. I've seen it work in other parts of the country where it has been managed and run by the people who use it.
For example http://www.isles.fm started life in a shed and now have two studios and are self sufficient via advertising and an integeral part of the community.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Am I right about the need? Is there a drive locally to start something again? Get funding for a small startup and begin broadcasting again on the internet to work towards a FM licence?
I've tried to keep something going locally with this blog http://www.kilburnradio.org.uk and linking to radiocasts from local people (including myself) but just wanted to test the waters before I started making more noise :)
Thanks for listening,
Anna

Global Chillage Four - Chuquai Billy
Global Chillage, presented by native-american comedian Chuquai Billy features ambient music from around the world featuring new age, deep-space, fusion, mellow jazz, classical, world and electronica designed to help you unwind and relax, letting the music carry you to other dimensions of gentleness and mental visuals.
DOWNLOAD SHOW ONE
Most of Global Chillage is handpicked music from Soundclick.com. It was inspired by a trip I took to a coffeeshop in Amsterdam called Global Chillage where they played ambient soundscapes to enhance the smoking experience visit. With or without the pejuta wakan [sacred plant], ambient music is brilliant for de-stressing and winding down after a hard day; an opportunity to see the colourful multi-tectured layers of music and emotion. And even though a lot of these artists you will recognise like Tangerine Dream, Laurie Anderson and Brian Eno; the vast majority are unknown but their talent is just as applicable. Welcome to Global Chillage and enjoy the journey.
